150 word cross-cultural education grant bio

Dr. James Neill (BSc(Hons), PhD)) is an early career researcher, with a PhD in education awarded in 2008. James teaches survey research methods, motivation, and emotion in the Centre for Applied Psychology, University of Canberra. His research expertise is in program evaluation and instrument development, experiential and challenge-based learning, and educational technology. James was a Project Associate of the UC Internationalising the Student Experience Teaching Project which included designing, implementing, and evaluating cross-cultural skill development curricula as part of an undergraduate unit on social psychology. James received a Faculty Teaching Award in 2009. His research publications focus on the personal development impacts of outdoor education and the measurement of life skills and mechanisms of change in group intervention programs. James’ anticipated contribution to the proposed project will be 1/2 day per week.
