Leadership

Leaders exert more influence over a group than the average member
Leaders have differing styles:

Autocratic: makes the decisions
Democratic: allows group to make decisions but is also involved in the process
Laissez-faire: does not intervene in the group

Leadership Dimensions

Organisational/Industrial psychologists have identified two factors on which leaders differ

Task orientation: focus is on efficiency
Relationship orientation: focus is on employee feelings
