Poppy
The poppy plant is well known for the aesthetics of its flower.
Inside the seed pod, if harvested at the right time, can be found a sticky
substance which is bled and collected. It an addictive
pain-killer which lends itself to commercial production and medical grade
painkillers -- morphine. Remember, drug companies are out to
make a buck, so they oppose indigenous and natural medicines which might
encourage people to grow and provide for their own medicinal needs and have
that knowledge available within the family, tribe or community. Hence
the community is legally discouraged from homegrown uses of the Poppy plant.
