Summary
Developing
psychological resilience is one of the most relevant applications of outdoor
education in the increasingly sedentary 21st century Western
societies. Since its early days, outdoor education programs have been used
to improve the capacity of individuals to withstand and even thrive in difficult
circumstances. This presentation explores the underlying theories, recommended
practices, and evidence-based research about the promising extent
to which outdoor education can boost resilience.
